Personal Benefits
Practically-orientated education
The program emphasizes the importance of implementing theoretical subject matter, learned through self-study or in the program courses, to deal with practical issues. Thus, although the teaching faculty will repeatedly review the most important theoretical issues in short sequences throughout the program, participants will be encouraged to deepen and expand their knowledge through case-study work, group- and team-based projects and assignments, class discussions, or in presentations delivered by guest speakers.
Ideal class size
Our class size is limited to 20 participants. This ensures a familiar and interactive learning atmosphere and, in particular, offers the participants the opportunity to retreat from the demands and distractions of day-to-day work life, so that they are able to concentrate on their studies. In addition, the small class size is optimal for allowing the faculty to supervise and evaluate students as they begin to put newly learned concepts and skills into practice.
International faculty
Approximately 12 nations are represented in our international faculty. All faculty members are professionals who have worked or studied abroad, have significant business experience, and are for the most part actively engaged in leading positions in various business sectors. All are dedicated to sharing their expertise with the participants. Thus, through first-hand reports and discussions in and outside of the classroom, participants obtain a deeper and broader insight into different business cultures.
Field study trips
Two field study trips will take the participants into regions of major importance to the Swiss economy. In contrast to many similar programs, we want our participants to broaden their horizons by exploring foreign regions, become familiar with local business practices, and have the opportunity to interact and conduct some initial networking with native entrepreneurs, expatriate managers, and local government representatives. We want our students to remove barriers and cross borders by putting theoretical approaches to cross-cultural management into action.
Personality development
Today’s executive leaders must be able to maintain emotional well-being in spite of high levels of stress. Although our IEMBA program is highly demanding and rigorous, participants are trained how to work effectively under pressure. We expect participants to demonstrate outstanding commitment, endurance, and persistent willingness to learn.
